Unfortunately in the United Kingdom regarding alleged Sex Offences the law is now more concerned with statistics than Guilt or Innocence.
This relates back over decades when the Police and Justice System were condemned by the public for low crime resolve statistics, so looked to create a soft target offence for unchallenged simple convictions.
By coincidence they would have you believe, at that time legislation was changed to allow convicting without corroboration in instances of alleged Sex Offences only.
The media are guided by 'The System' so that fuelling public hatred for all such allegations allows the Immoral Legislation to go undetected by the public.
Guilty until proven Innocent is not acceptable.
